I followed your instructions, but; do I type both lines meaning "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get install adobe-flashplugin" or just one? As I understand it, the default is to use the 32 bit flash plugin on 64bit systems with (don't quote me) a ndispluginwrapper to make it all happy.
