In my Mountaineer, something had collected leaves and string to make a nest on top of the mesh and prevented almost all the air from coming through. mine... I'm not getting any air hot or cold blowing out, but when I get on the highway a very small amount will blow out. I turned my heat on for the first time this year and it blows cold, last year it was hot. I have to work both the dash control and the wire depending on heat, AC, defrost, or vent. Not much fun to diagnose because you are jammed up underneath the dash, but you can start by removing the fan and cycling from floor/dash/defrost to see what doors are or My heat went out a month ago, but just by dumb luck I started hammering around the metal housing, and luckily, the heat came on.
To test this condition an amp meter is needed, connect the meter lead to the power wire of the fan motor. Also the AC does not work. It looks like it would be a real pain to get to that part of the system and replace the door, or to even cut it out and patch it like I AM ASKING FOR ANOTHER OPINION ON WHAT THE "NEON GREEN FLUID" IS COMING OUT OF MY VEHICLE IS.
Switched it to face or max AC, it's only blowing on defrost and not blowing on circular vents. if i figure it out, i will post it. As soon as I get moving and accelerate, the air moves to the defrost or the defrost and floor.
