I have found a few people with the same problem, but no solution. Maybe I'll have time this week. my daughter turned the cymbal on my son's drum kit all the way around and the thin black cord must have broke though it looks perfect. i dunno wat the other ppl are talking about but it works perfectly!!

Not so fast.... Rock Band Drums Loose Wires The black cord is in the wrong position. The supports under the drum heads should not have been attached to the main chassis but rather to the drum heads themselves.

I tried scotch tape but that comes off after about a song of testing.

How could it of done this? Within a few days of some serious rocking out the yellow cymbal failed altogether. I've got a replacement on the way already, but this is disappointing! I'd hate to spend money on the pad if it's something internally with the control deck. I think the sensor might be broken also. It seemed the build quality had improved.
