Both straps are very tight, and the premium is already starting to stretch/show signs of wear after just a couple of months. Really hoping it's something simple. Marple_Dave: trust the instructions, you are not ruining a perfectly good HR strap…simply modifying it to work with your Garmin! You can pair as many devices as you'd like to a given ANT+ sensor. this content
Great post DC Rainmaker, you rock! Call Garmin. ... 'cuz that's how I roll. Could you wrap the transmitter in a zip-loc bag (for example) to keep the sweat off the contacts to resolve the issue? If this is a fix it's because the fabric (between the two chest contact zones and behind the transmitter) absorbs sweat (including elecrolytes) during the early part of the ride.
Hope this helps some! It worked perfect both times, no sudden HR changes, no spikes. Please try again later. I just can't justify buying another new HRM with 2 Polar sitting in a drawer.

Any ideas ?. but the only problems I've had with my Garmin 500 so far is going out on very cold days without pre-licking the two conductor strips on the strap, the Garmin unit http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7B4bf21b30-c74b-11e4-d98d-000000000000%7D My Polar strap which I use on my TACX indoor trainer ( Fortius ) has never missed a beat.
It works faultlessly! It got me thinking and one thing I have noticed is that it works most often when I haven't trained for a day or so.
